Imagine having taken the most amazing photo ever.
It’s a photo that will become viral on your next Instagram story.
There is just one small issue… Your Instagram account doesn’t let you upload photos anymore… What a pain!
This usually happens when there is an issue within the Instagram app.
Luckily for you, it is within your control.
We’ll teach you:
Instagram won’t let you post?
- How to fix the issue and post photos on Instagram again.
“Why Instagram Wont Let Me Post?”
If you get an error message while posting, it could be due to several things:
- Your post on Instagram breaks the community guidelines
- You have a poor internet connection.
- Issues with the file.
- You are not using the latest Instagram version.
- You might be blocked from using the app.
- Instagram detected a third-party app.
- Too many posts on the same day.
If the mobile app sees any of those issues, it won’t let any Instagram account post photos.
That happens when you post too many photos.
Unless they break the community guidelines,
Instagram won’t notify its users about any of the issues mentioned above.
So it’s up to Instagram users to find solutions and fix Instagram themselves.
Luckily, most fixes are easy to do and can be done on every phone model there is.
How To Fix The “Instagram Won’t Let Me Post” Issue
If the app doesn’t work after trying these methods, then it might be a direct issue with your app. Try some of our other suggested fixes as well if Instagram is not working ,
1. Clear The Cache
When you clear cache, you are freeing up space on your device so Instagram app can work properly.
To clear Instagram cache, follow these steps for any Android device:
Go to Phone settings
Select app settings
Just tap clear cache.
If the issue wasn’t solved, tap clear data on the same screen you just were to delete the Instagram app, then reinstall it.
That should fix most issues with it.
To clear the app cache on an iPhone, do:
Go to Settings
Step 2: Scroll down to “General”, tap it.
Step 3: Tap iPhone storage.
Scroll down till you see the Instagram app. Tap the icon.
Tap offload app.
Again, if the issue wasn’t solved, tap on the delete app button and reinstall it.
2. Update The Instagram App
Simply update Instagram to the latest version.
Updating Instagram will fix most of the issues of the app in the blink of an eye.
Open the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
On the search bar, type “Instagram app”.
Find Instagram and tap on it.
Update the app.
Most Instagram accounts update automatically, but from time to time, there might be some errors.
3. Resize The File
If you are trying to upload photos or post stories that are too heavy for Instagram,
the app will stop you as the app has a size limit.
Instagram allows 60 seconds of video with a size of maximum 4GB.
For images, the size limit is:
- 1080px by 1080px for square posts.
- 1080px by 566px for landscape.
- 1080px x 1350pc for vertical images.
Here is what you can do to resize photos and videos:
- Try taking a screenshot or the photo to resize it.
- For videos, you’ll need to rerecord it to a shorter video length.
If you have an appropriate file size, and you still get a posting error, change to a more stable connection.
4. Free Device Storage
If your storage is full, you won’t be able to upload anything. Try deleting other social media platforms or unnecessary apps from your smartphone.
To do so on Android:
- Simply long press an app and slide it to the trash icon.
And for iPhones:
- Long press the app, and when the menu appears, simply click on remove app.
After you uninstall apps from your mobile device, try uploading photos again.
Issues with Instagram, especially ability to post new content might affect your growth and eventually, cause your profile to start losing Instagram followers .
5. Use A Fast Internet Connection
This might fix any posting issue you have on its own.
Many users choose to use cellular data instead of a more stable WiFi connection.
But this is not recommendable.
When using mobile data, a data saver function on your phone monitors
how much cellular Internet data you use, so that you don’t exceed a certain data usage threshold and end up paying more for your phone bill.
If that is the case, your connection speed is being throttled, preventing you from posting.
Here’s how you can change Instagram data settings:
Open Instagram App.
Click on your profile on the bottom left.
Click on the three lines on the top right corner, then click on settings.
Go to account. Then click on data usage.
Toggle off “Use less cellular data”.
Use this to solve most cellular data-related issues.
6. Uninstall Third-Party Apps
New users who want to get rich quickly use third-party applications to buy fake followers.
This goes against the community guidelines , and Instagram might have flagged your account for doing so.
If you permanently delete these mobile apps, it might fix Instagram for you.
There is no point in paying for more followers if you can’t even post pictures.
Instagram Won’t Let Me Post FAQ
Why Isn’t It Letting Me Post On Instagram?
Sometimes a post may violate Instagram policies, so the app will block it.
Try reading the community guidelines. Instagram blocks adult content, violent content, or animal abuse.
Be careful, as they will ban your account permanently for multiple offenses.
Why Is Instagram Not Letting Me Post More Than One Picture?
Most of the time, it’s because you have already posted a lot of photos.
Uploading multiple photos also requires a stable network connection.
So that’s probably why you keep seeing the message “Instagram Not Posted”.
