For my satchels, they tend to be retrieved overnight. I also try to retrieve as many as I can when I’m playing.

Do you need NSO to retrieve your satchels?

Only found that one out after losing the first thunderstone I received when I was exploring, took ages to find a second one. About two minutes after finding the second I got my satchel back when I turned on connectivity

I stopped picking them up because I found all the items I needed on the ground during the distortions.

If you don’t have Nintendo online/aren’t connected to the internet in game no one can collect your satchels. The game gives you fake ones to grab tho, so you can get the rewards still

Ugh. I knew it. I’m not online and I kept getting the same five or six names every time and they all seemed fake. Like who names themselves Prosperity? But I’d still grab the satchels whenever I wanted to kill some time because I thought there might be a chance they’re real.

I’ve gotten mixed results with this. I have NSO and my game is configured to autoconnect, but once I pick up the initial wave of satchels (always 4 per area) it’s nothing but the NPC satchels until my next play session.

Is there some sort of cooldown on when “real” satchels get populated in your world again?

Wait, but then why do I keep getting Prosperity and Annie too? I have Nintendo online, I’m connected to the internet, and I’ve even had all of my satchels retrieved for me.

It’s a really cool feature and I like that it works offline, but it’s pretty rubbish that you need a paid membership for this low bandwidth feature to work
